Welcome to the Kiwanis Club of West Omaha

Founded in 1938 for Kiwanis Club of Greater Omaha and founded in 1961 for Kiwanis Club Westside which have merged together to form the Kiwanis Club of West Omaha. Each has a rich history of community service throughout the years. We are an eclectic mix of ages, genders, occupations, backgrounds and interests. We are all passionate about making our community and the world a better place for children so they can thrive. We are devoted to serving the children in our local community and also children all across the country and worldwide through unique and innovative service projects and fundraising initiatives. Members and invited guests meet each Monday at Noon for food, fellowship, and for the opportunity to hear from speakers about important matters in our region.

Dale reported on Sacred Heart:
The next date is April 25 and the scheduled readers are Dave, Barb, and Dale.
The Zoo trip is still scheduled for May 9.  Volunteers are needed - at least four or five.
Dale also reported on Completely Kids.  The next date is April 30 with the scheduled team members as Ralph, Rich, Dennis, and Dale.
Steve reported that Dennis received $2,500 in Flag Program donations last week.  In addition Rod also received an additional $50 donation.
As of today the Club has received over $3,400 in donations.
Steve also reported that the Golf Event is proceeding slowly and that the Legends Sports Bar has donated two, $25 gift cards.  Everyone can expect
a strong push for more Event support.
Deb helped at the AllPlay cleanup and preparation during last weekend.

Kip was the speaker this week and he discussed the results of the recent Club activities survey.
He received 17 responses to the survey questionaire.
Meetings - people were generally happy with the current lunch location, time, Legends accommodations, etc.  We should continue with the
speakers, happy bucks, etc.
Service projects - again, people were generally happy with the amount and volunteering atmosphere of our projects.  We do need more
volunteers for Flag placement days.
Membership - a very difficult area to improve.  Rod did agree to start a membership committee, which will need volunteers.  Vince agreed
to help on an Ad Hoc basis.
Social Events - most agreed to continue with social events.   The Champions Dinner is a good yearly event along with possibly two or three
more during the year.

The next meeting is scheduled for April 28, at Legends.
