Bill introduced our speakers. Linda Reimer Executive Director of Omaha Street School and Ajourh a student at Omaha Street School.
Omaha Street School is an alternative high school for students who have not found success in a traditional school setting. Often this the last chance for at-risk students to receive a high school diploma.
Everything they do at OSS is wrapped in faith and the belief that each teen has value and a purpose in this life. Even though these high school students have not been successful in traditional education settings and are often rejected by their own families, OSS envelops students in tabula rasa - giving them a fresh start and a clean slate. It was very interesting to hear a student's version of how OSS has changed his life in such a positive way. Volunteers are needed. Prepared lunches are needed. Something for our members to consider. Linda was presented with a $100.00 check from our club.
Next meeting is on Monday, October 2, at noon at Legends.
