Welcome to the Kiwanis Club of West Omaha
 
Founded in 1938 for Kiwanis Club of Greater Omaha and founded in 1961 for Kiwanis Club Westside which have merged together to form the Kiwanis Club of West Omaha. Each has a rich history of community service throughout the years. We are an eclectic mix of ages, genders, occupations, backgrounds and interests. We are all passionate about making our community and the world a better place for children so they can thrive. We are devoted to serving the children in our local community and also children all across the country and worldwide through unique and innovative service projects and fundraising initiatives. Members and invited guests meet each Monday at Noon for food, fellowship, and for the opportunity to hear from speakers about important matters in our region.

The meeting was opened with a prayer from Kip.  This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
Attendance - 14 members.  Guests - Laurrie Cronin
 
The 50/50 drawing was held and there was a winner after nearly a year.  Congratulations to Deb.
 
Happy Bucks was collected.  
 
Kip led the business discussion:
Dale reminded/updated that the Completely Kids America 250 Year Celebration is set for July 10, from 3 to 
5 PM.  He also reported that he has the following confirmed volunteers - Dennis, Laurrie,
Steve, Frank, Dale, and Ralph.
Dennis provided a Flag Program update:
No received funding this past week.  Received donations are still at $8,030.
The next date for setting out flags is July 4, this coming Saturday.
Dennis stated he needs two volunteers, and a vehicle, for setting the flags.  If you can help
please contact Dennis.
Kip reported that the Club tour of the Nebraska Veterans Vietnam Memorial was last Thursday June 25.
Very informative and if you were not able to attend please make your own visit.  A photo of the
Club attendees with a helicopter in the background is attached.

Glen reminded everyone to submit their June service hours as soon as possible. 
   
The guest speaker was Greg Kraemer of Slpbeds (Sleep in Heavenly Peace). 
 
There is no meeting next Monday, July 6.  The next Club Meeting is July 29, at Legends.
