Welcome to the Kiwanis Club of West Omaha
 
Founded in 1938 for Kiwanis Club of Greater Omaha and founded in 1961 for Kiwanis Club Westside which have merged together to form the Kiwanis Club of West Omaha. Each has a rich history of community service throughout the years. We are an eclectic mix of ages, genders, occupations, backgrounds and interests. We are all passionate about making our community and the world a better place for children so they can thrive. We are devoted to serving the children in our local community and also children all across the country and worldwide through unique and innovative service projects and fundraising initiatives. Members and invited guests meet each Monday at Noon for food, fellowship, and for the opportunity to hear from speakers about important matters in our region.

The meeting was opened with a prayer from Frank.  This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
Attendance - 16 members.  
 
The 50/50 drawing was held and there was no winner.
 
Happy Bucks was collected.
 
Frank led the business discussion:
Dale discussed Sacred Heart.  Did a reading last week, November 7.  Readers were Rich, 
Glen, Greg, and Dale.  November 21 is the next reading date.
Dale stated that Sacred Heart Christmas Lunch date is December 8. 
The Clothes for Kids program was completed last Tuesday, November 4.  Barb had 17 kids in nine 
families.  The Club had a full roster of volunteers for each family.
Vince passed sign up sheets for guest speaker coordinators and Salvation Army Bell Ringing.
The Bell Ringing dates are December 5th and 12th.
Barb stated she was contacted by a representative from Completely Kids.  They are looking
for volunteers to provide $25 to $30 Christmas gifts for kids.  She recommended for the Club
to support four kids. 
 
This week's speaker was Steve Martin who talked about the Alliance for the Future Agriculture
in Nebraska "AFAN".
  
The next Club Meeting is November 17th, at Legends.
