Welcome to the Kiwanis Club of West Omaha
 
Founded in 1938 for Kiwanis Club of Greater Omaha and founded in 1961 for Kiwanis Club Westside which have merged together to form the Kiwanis Club of West Omaha. Each has a rich history of community service throughout the years. We are an eclectic mix of ages, genders, occupations, backgrounds and interests. We are all passionate about making our community and the world a better place for children so they can thrive. We are devoted to serving the children in our local community and also children all across the country and worldwide through unique and innovative service projects and fundraising initiatives. Members and invited guests meet each Monday at Noon for food, fellowship, and for the opportunity to hear from speakers about important matters in our region.

The meeting was opened with a prayer from Frank.  This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

 Attendance - 14 members.

 The 50/50 drawing was held but there was no winner.

 Rod collected happy bucks.

 Frank led the business discussion:

Jack reported that he has received a thank you card from one of the scholarships recipients.

The team placed 171 flags on Memorial Day.  Two new participants have joined the Flag Program

June 4 is the next Division Council meeting.

Several members provided gift cards, boxes of a dozen golf balls, and hole sponsors for the upcoming Golf Event.

Special Olympics was a success for the events the Club sponsored.

The Standing Long Jump - Stu Ellison and family.

The Shot Put - Rod, Dana, Rich, Greg, and Jerry.

Deb donated $17 from recent aluminum cans recycled.

Thursday, June 5, is the Omahawks radio controlled airplane event at Standing Bear lake.

 The guest speaker was Todd Samland and he discussed the Omaha Masters Swimming Program.

 The next meeting is June 9 at the Legends.
